Brief
The aim was to transform a cluttered and tired but promising hall space in a large Victorian house into a light, airy and modern room.
The Solution
First of all the space was decluttered and cleared, and the walls and doors painted a pale taupe. A polished slate floor with underfloor heating was chosen to add a perception of further height to the space. The central ceiling pendant was removed and replaced with low voltage wire lighting to extend the length of the room and add flexibility to the lighting scheme. By bouncing light off the walls this adds further width to the room and allows key features to be picked out. Modern furniture items with clean lines were chosen to suit the space.
